Migos to Hold Concert at Columbus Civic Center

Atlanta trap trio Migos kicks off the summer with a concert in Columbus, GA.

There are quite a few things that could come to mind when the state of Georgia is mentioned- peaches, cotton, football, presidents, Coca-Cola, or even Waffle House- but if you really know this state, you know that its pride is deeply rooted in its contributions to American music of nearly every genre. Ray Charles, R.E.M., Zac Brown Band, Trisha Yearwood, and OutKast are only a few of many big names on a list that is ever-growing. Atlanta in particular is known for some of music’s most catchy, creative, and wildly original artists. Migos is no exception.

Migos is an Atlanta trap trio consisting of Quavo, Takeoff, and Offset (but you probably already knew that). The group grew up in Gwinnett County, where Quavo was a football star at his high school during his senior year in 2009. Ironically, the three are related. Quavo and Takeoff are cousins, while Quavo is Offset’s uncle. The group has been noted to celebrate all things Georgia, including a hopeful Rose Bowl win for the Georgia Bulldogs and a devastating Super Bowl loss for the Atlanta Falcons. Migos has become iconic for trap music and almost like royalty for fans in Atlanta.

The trio tasted its first sip of fame in 2013 with the club hit, “Versace.” It followed that up in 2014 with “Fight Night,” and it released “Look at My Dab” in 2015. Migos made itself a staple on your house party hit list in 2016 with “Bad and Boujee,” and now it’s coming to Columbus to make the party even more lit.

Migos will be performing at the Columbus Civic Center on Victory Drive on Friday, May 11 with Plies as its opening act. The show is set to begin at 8 p.m. Tickets went on sale in late March and will be available until the day of the show. Tickets, the prices of which range from $80 to $430, can be purchased online or at the Columbus Civic Center.
