Academic Center for Tutoring to Host Open House

Free food and games to attract new students to services

On Friday Sept. 8 in Woodall Hall, Columbus State University’s Academic Center for Tutoring (ACT) will be hosting an open house in an effort to make incoming and returning students aware of their services. The event will include free food and drinks, a raffle, games, and a scavenger hunt. Students will also have an opportunity to meet the Director of the ACT, Dr. Eliot Rendleman, along with the tutors who will help students set up appointments and learn more about what the ACT has to offer.

According to Dr. Rendleman, the ACT’s mission is to “support students primarily in their first and second years at CSU.” However, he also points out that the ACT is not just for new or struggling students, “All students can benefit. Strong students can use our services to maintain their skills.” The ACT offers a wide selection of tutoring subjects that cover Math, Science, and the Humanities.
