1. Romantic Getaway
Put down your books, clock out of work, and escape from the stresses of life to unwind and run away with your significant other. Spend Valentine’s Day away from the college student worries and focus on your love, your connection, and your bond. Go one a date, go to the movies, go to dinner at fancy restaurant, go to the River Walk to explore, or even spend the day in bed filled with intimacy and deep conversation. It doesn’t necessarily matter what you do or where you go as long as you are with the person you like or love and can enjoy each other’s company.
2. Binge-worthy Chick Flicks
No matter what’s going on in your love life, or lack thereof, spending the entire day engrossed in movies is a sure way to have a great time on Valentine’s Day. From “Mean Girls”, starring Lindsey Lohan, to “13 Going On 30,” featuring Jennifer Gardner, a day filled with chick flicks can either cause you to appreciate their love interest or appreciate your self-worth.
3. Me, Myself, and I
Who needs a relationship when you’ve got yourself? You are one of the best things that has ever happened to you! So trade in a night of cheap chocolates and forced tradition for a night of self-actualization where you love yourself don’t need anybody else. Get yourself some chocolate, send yourself some flowers, and maybe even bake for yourself a little.
4. Game Night
When you and your friends are sick of watching chick flicks, or when you and your significant other cannot find anything affordable to do, game night is a guaranteed route to a fun filled Valentine’s Day. Whether you play board games like CandyLand and Monopoly, card games like Poker and Uno, or conversation-action games like Would You Rather and Spin The Bottle, there is a game available that will bring about an entertaining Valentine’s Day.
5. Family Dinner Party
Although Valentine’s Day is traditionally meant to be spent with your significant other, having a family dinner party is still one of the best ways to spend the evening. Feast with your mom, dad, brothers, sisters, and anyone in your family that loves you and has impacted your life. Instead of being around someone you’re romantically in love with, spend the day with the people that love you for you and has been there for you in tough times. Cook dinner, help your mom cook dinner, dine at a fancy restaurant, or forget about your diet and eat tons of sweets. But whatever you do, make sure you do it together
